Asahi Beerbot
Bow down and behold in awe the future of beer drinking: Asahi Breweries incredible Beerbot. It chills and opens up to six cans of beer for its too-lazy-to-open-a-can-of-beer-good-for-nothing owner. The beerbot is part of a 
promotion scheme, giving the contestants the chance of winning one out of 5.000 of these fully-stocked beauties if they collect 36 seals found on specially marked Asahi beers. As it seems they are not working on a robot, that also drinks the beer, so part of the work still has to be done by the owner himself. By the way I really love Asahis slogan "Creating new levels of satisfaction"... ;)
The japanese really are crazy about their robots, check out this page, to see some other weird inventions, including a snake like robot who's only purpose is to scare the shits out of little kids.
Now thats what I call putting a lot of effort into a practical joke...funny sort of humor too!
